Using a tungsten bead, cone, body form, or dumbbell is the fastest and easiest way to add significant weight to your fly. Since tungsten is approximately twice as heavy as brass, you can really make your fly bomb toward the bottom. In most situations the added weight of a tungsten bead to the fly often eliminates the need to add split shot to the leader.

Unlike lead, tungsten is non-toxic and safe for the environment. On streams that prohibit the use of lead it is an excellent substitute and often the only way to get your flies down to the level of the fish.

Tungsten Disco Beads are fabulous, extra reflective, sparkling beads made from super heavy tungsten. The slot in the bead works with hooks designed with aggressive hook bends. These are sold 10 per package.

Our Tungsten Fly Humps are a great substitute for lead wire and make a nice body form for scuds and sowbugs. They simply epoxy into place and make a more precise body shape than wrapped lead wire. These are sold 10 per package.

Tungsten Dumbbells are incredibly heavy and have a flat end that lets you add adhesive eyes. The off center shaft allows the fly tyer to determine the exact position of the eye in relation to the hook shank. These are sold 10 per package.
