Dry Fly Rooster NecksDry Fly Rooster Necks come from a physically small bird. Although the feathers are not long, they are naturally dry with very stiff barbs. All three grades are a very good value. These little birds are from India and are closely related to their native wild fowl. Originally, they were the only good source of stiff dry fly hackle.
Prime - good feather count, ranges in size 10-20’s, lots of 14-16’s.
Dyed yellow and dyed red are not available in prime.
#1 - excellent quality with fewer 14-16’s than prime
#2 - wider hackle with some web, not as long or as stiff
